We’re inviting young and prospering chemists!

International Congress of Young Chemists YoungChem is an ideal event for inexperianced chemists about to introduce themselves to the science world!

History of the YoungChem congress

For the 19th time, we invite you to participate in the International Congress of Young Chemists – a conference organized by a group of young scientists passionate about chemical sciences. The event is addressed to all individuals beginning their scientific careers who wish to share their research with the wider scientific community.

The first edition of the event was held in Zakopane in 2003 and brought together participants from six European countries (Poland, Sweden, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, and Latvia). With each successive edition, “YoungChem” has gained increasing international recognition, extending beyond the borders of Europe and bringing together speakers from all over the world.

Over the years, we have hosted distinguished scientists such as Prof. Ben Feringa, awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for the design and synthesis of molecular machines, together with Prof. Jean-Pierre Sauvage and Prof. Fraser Stoddart. In 2017, Prof. Victor Kartsev and the International Scientific Partnership Foundation honored the “YoungChem” conference with the Memorial Silver Medal.

The conference has been held in various locations across Poland, including Lublin, Szczecin, and Kraków. Last year, the event took place in Dźwirzyno, a picturesque town on the Baltic Sea, where keynote lectures were delivered by Prof. Pierre Audebert and Prof. Marta K. Dudek. This year, we are pleased to invite you to Bystra, a charming town located near Bielsko-Biała, at the foot of the Silesian Beskids.

During the conference, participants will have the opportunity to present their research findings through oral presentations and poster sessions. This four-day event provides a platform for exchanging experiences and ideas, which may contribute to future scientific development. It also fosters integration within the young scientific community, often leading to new collaborations and innovative projects.

This year, the Scientific Committee will also select the best poster presentation, which will be awarded a special prize funded by the conference organizers.

In addition, the program includes social and recreational activities, allowing participants to take a break from their daily duties and enjoy the unique atmosphere of the event.
